Maeda's Hinaokoshi

We have spent many years preserving the traditional craft of Japanese confectionery in Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture. "Hinaokoshi," an essential treat for the Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival) season, is a traditional flavor handed down through generations in this region.
Maeda's Hinaokoshi is roasted in a rotating open-flame roaster. Its crispy texture and rich, fragrant flavor will make your Hina Matsuri celebrations even more vibrant.
The Traditional Uwajima "Nigiri-mame" Method
In Uwajima City, Ehime, there is a tradition of making Hina-arare as "Nigiri-mame" (pressed/molded beans). It is a unique regional process where the arare ingredients are carefully combined with starch syrup and shaped by hand.
By hand-molding each piece, the gentle sweetness of the syrup coats the entire arare, creating a unique crispiness and a moderate sweetness that spreads throughout your mouth.
We continue to preserve this traditional method to bring the flavors of the past to the present day.
Commitment to Carefully Selected Ingredients
