Barley flour
Enjoy the superfood "barley" easily and deliciously!
Maeda handles the entire production process for our barley flour in-house, from pearling and roasting to milling. We offer a wide range of products using Ehime "hadaka mugi" (naked barley).
Naked barley is a type of barley for which Ehime Prefecture boasts the highest production volume in Japan. It is rich in dietary fiber, superior in taste and flavor compared to hulled barley, and contains minerals. Our barley products allow you to easily ingest beta-glucan, a type of soluble dietary fiber. "Beta-glucan" is a dietary fiber found in mushrooms, seaweed, and grains; among these, barley has one of the highest contents of beta-glucan.
◇Domestic Barley Pancake Mix
Makes pancakes with the rich color and "Japanese-style" aroma unique to barley. Because it is rich in dietary fiber, the batter is elastic and results in a chewy texture! It is wheat-free.
◇Domestic Barley Okonomiyaki Mix
Contains mountain yam, shaved fish powder, and kelp! It has a fluffy texture and is wheat-free.
◇Naked Barley Flour for Bread / "Naked Barley Field" Fluffy Bread Mix
These are mix powders for barley bread. Previously, it was impossible to make soft bread with barley, but our patented manufacturing process now makes it possible to create soft and delicious bread. You can make it by hand or in a bread machine. We hope you will try the fluffy and chewy texture created by our unique process at home!
◇"Hattaiko," made by roasting and milling barley
A Japanese-style cereal that lets you taste the natural sweetness of the grain. Also known as "mugikogashi" or "ochirashiko," this product contains approximately 3.9g of barley beta-glucan per 100g. You can add sugar to your liking and stir it with boiling water to eat, or use it in recipes by mixing it into milk as a drink, or in baking cookies, cakes, and manju. It is a barley flour that allows you to easily get nutrition just by sprinkling or mixing it in. We also offer an original Hattaiko blended with ginger from Kochi and sugar produced in Hokkaido.
We propose new ways to eat barley for customers who want to maintain a healthy diet without effort.
